About Us
Autoshades was founded in June of 1991 by Justin Tschauner. Justin's philosophy for operating Autoshades is to offer the best window film available and to give the best level of installation. Justin hand cuts every window in every car that is worked on, delivering true custom work to all vehicles that come to Autoshades. Justin's high attention to detail and high level of craftsmanship has some dealerships using us exclusively for their window tinting needs on their high end vehicles, knowing that those vehicles are in good care at Autoshades.
Justin Tschauner has been tinting automobile glass since 1988, and has operated his own business since June of 1991. Autoshades added the service of Paint Protection in 2004.
Autoshades does not use the computer cut system for window tinting applications, as no two pieces of glass are the same, computer cut window film often leaves the consumer with light gaps in the rear windshield, the third breaklight cut out and huge gaps between the edge of the film and the edge of the door glass. The computer cut system does not deliver high end craftmanship therefore, Autoshades will continue to hand cut window tint.
Autoshades does use computer cut kits for Venture Shield Paint Protection applications. This product is much thicker than window film, and the outside of vehicles has many contours that hand cut will not deliver consistent coverage.
Don Mason is our residential/commercial installer, who joined Autoshades in October of 2006. Don relocated to the Tri-Cities from the Spokane area bringing 10 years of residential/commercial film installation experience. Don's previous occupation was with Spokane Sunscreens, which is the largest window tinting business in the Spokane area. Don also brings to Autoshades the same philosophy Justin established, and that is high end craftsmanship.
